AhlulBayt News Agency: The Iranian embassy in Beirut hosted a ceremony on Thursday evening to commemorate the 36th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s passing, drawing a significant gathering of Lebanese politicians and religious scholars from both Islamic and Christian communities.
According to IRNA, during the event, Lebanese lawmaker Mohammad Raad paid tribute to Imam Khomeini’s enduring legacy, emphasizing that the Islamic resistance remains deeply ingrained in the conscience of the people, making it impervious to external pressures.
Raad affirmed that Hezbollah will continue to stand firm against challenges, having successfully safeguarded Lebanon and reinforced a strategy of deterrence. He reiterated the movement’s unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty.
Highlighting the resilience of the Lebanese people, Raad described them as a nation of resistance that remains dedicated to an unyielding cause.
Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, passed away in 1989 at the age of 87, leaving behind a profound influence on political and religious movements across the region.
